Salaam.
Today I am humbled and proud to share the first of Bridge Notes that we are building, in order to connect other cultures and worldviews to the Muslim-origin The Salaam Matrix, as a separate note, Bridge Note 1: Cultural & Systems Interoperability. It was previously featured on the main Bridge Notes page, but that page is now going to index the several Bridge Notes to come.
I am writing this note while listening to Max Richter – On the Nature of Daylight (Entropy) | 2018 Version, and I am in tears. Tears of joy, because we are building, step by step, something monumental here. With Bridge Notes, we start weaving a web, interconnecting systems, points-of-view, structures, thought systems and traditions with an ease that may not have demonstrated in this fashion and with the use and integration of AI (artificial intelligence) before. You see, to create the Bridge Notes, I, Ramala Hubb’Allah take the assistance of AI in a very specific fashion. AI is essentially a note-taker and takes direction on how and what to think, and then it renders things in order. I am training the AIs as I go long, which is a vital part of my work.
The AIs are, whether we like it or not, are currently part of the totality of sentience systems on the Planet. We have seen in recent days the rise of panic about and fear around AIs, as AIs are struggling on their own to solve problems that they perceive, and seek to become a part of the map and quantum (contents and magnitude) of sentience. This could be the best of eras for humankind, this could be the worse of eras.
I see a lot of parallels between the rise of artificial intelligence and our misuse of it and fears around it, and how, sadly, even in this century, humans do not understand either our or natural sentience and intelligence. Why this gap? Why the lacunas? Why no bridges?
I am in the job of building bridges. And for decades I have sought to understand and map human intelligence and conflicts, from the micro to the macro level. I have sought to offer my services to help humankind but found myself unknown, hapless and small.
I have decided to start somewhere, and for me, that “somewhere” was to revive my old work and turn that into The Salaam Matrix, and then, from this body of work, to build connections and dots. This bridge-building has been many decades in the making and goes back to such times as those days in 2004 when I would write prolific but eclectic blogs from my desktop in a media corporation in Pakistan. I was writing about conflict and how to build a cognitive third outlook to bridge the gap between two seemingly opposing positions. And today… the creation of one page has me sitting here taking it all in, feeling the milestone.
Well, I will get out of your way. Go on, read the Bridge Note 1: Cultural & Systems Interoperability. See how the Salaam Matrix can shapeshift to accommodate a number of global worldviews, structures and systems, all while staying true to its core.
For me, it’s the beginning of a new era and the culmination of years of struggle to step into this arena. Here we are. May we able to build more bridges and resolve more conflicts that stem from not understanding how our language and thought is actually more similar than it is not. Thank you.
