This is the GOVERNANCE node of the Salaam Matrix.
GOVERNANCE is now a sub-theme under POLARITIES.
The Salaam Matrix is defined as a model of integration and organization for the whole self—rooted in the Islamic codex, and connected to the corpus of human knowledge in the 21st century.
When put in practice, The Salaam Matrix begins reflecting how humans operate as persons and societies. The model, in action, also takes the practitioners and users through a journey of the human activity and, by extension psyche as the Life Zones begins springing into movement.
One of the facets that becomes obvious is that there is an underlying duality—pertaining to human needs, development and operations—that sits underneath our affairs, and begin revealing itself soon: the duality of Governance, and Guardianship.
The Guardian and the Governor are an archetypal duo and energy types that may become the dominant expression of parts or fullness of the Salaam Matrix in application; whereas the focus of the Guardian figurehead is on nurture, care, spirit and mercy, and the focus of the Governor figurehead is on boundaries, structures, maintenance, accountability and justice.
This means that the dominant usage and expression of The Salaam Matrix is in either or both of these dimensions: the dimension of care and nurturing, and the dimension of authority and control. In parts you will feel that Care is the operative value; in other parts Control is the operative value.
This is an archetypical architecture that humans find useful and traditionally have given it names such as Yin/Yang, which in the West contemporary parlance is called Feminine/Masculine energies. In Islam/Arabic, the words we use for this duality are Jamali/Jalali. This is a kind of temperament and behavior and not a person or gender. Any gender can assume either or both of these temperaments, and most humans have a mix.
Within the context of the Matrix, the focus of the Governance facet is on boundaries, structures, policy, definitions, maintenance, accountability and justice.
The Governor tends to focus on the outer and ‘hardware’ aspects of the system, the policies, the rules, the outcome, the delivery and the form. It is concerned with (benevolent) and organic control.
Its complimentary aspect, the Guardian, is concerned with the inner, ‘software’ aspects of the system—the mindset, the programs, the maintenance, the diversity, the neurology and neuropathy, the process, the need and the nuance.
The author of The Salaam Matrix, Ramala Hubb’Allah, has chosen the image of ‘State Pillars’ to represent the Governance energy, function, and mode. While this image generically refers to the macro-institutions of a nation, Ramala borrows the analogy of a nation to refer to other territories and states—from a human’s inner world to their family, and other small units such as places of study, work and play—where humans using micro- and nano-versions of Governance that is often only thought of as a scale function and concern.
Governance is not just for nations, but also realms and territories large and small. Also, atomic parts of collective governance are held by a number of individuals and stakeholders in a collective.
This node of The Salaam Matrix is about an in-depth exposition, exploration and application of the Governance mode and energy in human life, as filtered and organized through the Salaam Matrix. The focus is on conceptual understanding of what Governance is and how it is primarily a modelity in human psyche and the design of life. With that established, the application of Governance at Four Life Zones levels will be detailed.
