The Salaam Matrix has been developed into a complex tool that allows a multi-layered study of the world around (and within) us. This ability to “see” better allows better decision-making, be that for persons, households or governments. On this page, a BASIC READER is provided. In-depth analysis is being made available over time, and specific applications and readings are available as guided sessions (upcoming).
The Salaam Matrix: Basic Reader
The most basic elements of the Salaam Matrix are its “Four (Life) Zones”, and within each Zone are “Roles’ that people play (or not). Is a person a driver? Or needs to drive but doesn’t? Either way, it’s a role. ZONES and ROLES are the basic variables in the Matrix since its inception in 2005-06. By 2026, other elements such as SHADOW Matrix, as well as RELATIONSHIPS, RELATIVE WEIGHT, and the STRUCTURAL and PROCESS time are also being studied. These latter developments will soon be introduced to the Matrix. For the most basic and beginner’s reading, carry on!
The Four Life Zones in the Salaam Matrix
The Salaam Matrix, a tool for analysis, prediction and generation, divides human life into progressive four zones: Spiritual, Personal-Familia; Socioeconomic; and Ecological-Political. Within the “Zones”, the Matrix reader generates various “Roles” that the people play, to observe or define them, and to work with them. The Zones are specified, and the Roles are suggested and variable.
But what do they entail, and what to read within them?
Spiritual Zone
The primary and the innermost Life Zone in the Salaam Matrix is the Spiritual Zone, which pertains to the “software” and coding of a society, including any malware. These are the beliefs, thought formations, programming, faith systems, codes of conduct, life outlook, perceptions, inner information and internal landscape of a person, group, nation, or a scattered formation that doesn’t define well as a collective.
Personal-Familial Zone
This is the intimate family and household zone in which a person operates, and interacts with whatever shape or form of family (and some neighborhood) they have. This pertains to their household tasks, family and personal duties, daily rituals, habits, personal habits, family contracts and negotiations, sharing, space negotiations and allotments and so on. Domestic affairs including violations come under this Life Zone.
Socio-Economic Zone
This is the zone where the person steps beyond the threshold of household, and steps into the world. This is a more transactional zone. Economic transactions, earning, career, travel, transport, logistics, trade, socialization, friendships, neighborhood and close community work, education, supply and demand, purchasing and selling, labor rights, employer/employee/customer rights, insurance, housing, banking, money systems, construction, resource mining, regeneration – all fall under primarily this zone.
Ecological-Political Zone
Beyond socioeconomic zone, lies the ideological space that is deemed the Ecological-Political zone, the outward container zone of them all. This is a zone of the collective and of the individual operating in the collective – negotiating, navigating, laying and walking the path. This is the zone of (the design of the) law, national boundaries, and political movements, organization, and the national or tribal executive function. This is also the zone for ecological and environmental design, containers, and contents which are normally called “resources” or “assets” but there has long been an extractive and exploitative connotation associated with those words thansk to extractive human behavior. The new outlook is REGENERATIVE and one based on GUARDIANSHIP of Earth and KINSHIP with the species and all creation. This is the zone of voting, governance, and one’s philosophy and outlook towards the outer world, as put in practice (instead of as processes internally, as in the Spiritual Zone). This is where the proof is found in the pudding, and the collective outcome of all pravious zones is exhibited as national spirit, content, behavior and direction.
All other zones can be seen as the atomization of the Ecological-Political Zone, whereas looking inside-out, all zones are the expansion of the Spiritual Zone. These two zones are each other’s feeders and mirrors, and change can be affected in one through the Other, whereas the individual carries larger authority over the Spiritual Zone, and the governers and the collective operate in the Ecological-Political Zone, which is better their primary focus.
Notes:
The Salaam Matrix is dynamic, especially in this fluid, 21st-century world. The most ideal form of reading is dynamic and real-time (powered by data and AI), or through fluid human intelligence and wisdom.
Roles in the Zones can overlap on the edges, and there are liminal and transitional zones between two zones.
Depending on the size and structure of society, the design and look of the zones will differ, as well as the degree of their overlap and/or separation.
Some societies may place certain roles typically assigned to one zone, into another zone. For instance, dictatorial societies may try to define the Spiritual Zone for people, or cooperative and relational society may push certain inner beliefs in the Personal-Familial Zone, and people may not have an atomic sense of individuation outside of a cluster or group. Individuality still exists at the atomic level, but the atom always travels in clusters and makes decisions with them!
How to read this Matrix is in itself a kind of reading and art! This is the meta-reading of the Matrix.
The ‘People’ in the Salaam Matrix
The Humans of the Salaam Matrix
Since the Salaam Matrix is designed as a fairly neutral and inert model, its study of and usage by humans can be applied to:
- Persons and Individuals – real, fictional or ideal (as the case may be)
- Groups, Clusters, Formations – in neighborhoods, families and lineages, tribes and clans, races and bioregional groups, migrants and transients, nations and specie.
- Scattered Formations: Harder to study than groups and persons, non-structured and scattered populations in a study can still be analyzed with the Matrix, with application of appropriate statistical analysis tools
BONUS: The Curious Case of Non-Human Populations
For the creative individual who may want to use anthropic tools to study non-human zootic populations, the tool may still surprisingly yield results. That would be an anthropomorphic application of the tool.
We may even study a society of created populations, such as… robots; though this is an edgy application of the model. Since the model is also applicable in fictional literature scenarios, it may be used to describe alien or wizard and other humanoid populations in the fictional world. The generative applications of the Matrix are only limited by the imagination of the user.
Ramala Hubb’Allah believes that approach is not illegitimate. Each observing specie sees the world through its own spectrum, bias and projection. Studies hint that cats perceive human faces as cat-like!
